Live Stock Market Updates - Sensex gains by 150 points, Infratel rises by 2.5%


Equity tips:-

  • Nifty and Sensex open on a fresh note, snapping away from the losing streak, to trade in positive. While Nifty trades above the 10,150 level, Sensex gains over 150 points. Strong buying is seen in several sectors including Energy, Bank, Industrials, and Consumer Durables, while Telecom sector leads with Infratel gaining over 2.5%.
  • At 9:40 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,913 up by 152 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,158 up by 40 points.
  • The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.60% at 16,426 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading higher by 0.60% at 17,377.

  • Some buying seen in Telecom, Energy, Industrials, Consumer Durables, and Reality sectors, while IT sector show weakness on the BSE.
  • The India Vix is down by 5.36% at 13.5.
  • Out of 1,962 stocks traded on the NSE, 1121 advanced, 423 declined, and 418 remained unchanged today.
  • A total of 21 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 15 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
  • Tata Teleservices stock jumps 5% after 22 lakh shares change hands in a block deal.
  • Bharti Infratel stock rallied 2% after 8% fall in previous two straight sessions.
  • Indo Count Industries stock surges 3% after Param Value Investments bought 10 lakh shares or 0.5% at Rs 116.9 each.
  • Nifty PSU Bank Index up 1%. Bank of India, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, SBI (+1%).
  • Nifty IT Index down. Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech (-1%).
  • Jubilant Foodworks stock up 1% as brokerage houses remained positive on the stock.
  • ONGC said that Venezuela’s state-run PDVSA is committed to the arrangement with ONGC Videsh. Stock up 1%.
