Live Stock Market Updates - Nifty hovers around 10,220 level; NTPC gains by 2%


Equity tips:-

  • Nifty and Sensex open trade on a choppy note, following the weaker US Markets and the subdued start of the Asian Indices. NTPC gained by 2% with Q2 earnings reporting good revenue growth.
  • At 9:40 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,042, up by 9 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,219 down by 5 points.
  • The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down by 0.03% at 16,526 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading higher by 0.24% at 17,612.

  • Some buying seen in Energy, FMCG, Auto, Power, and Reality sectors, while Industrials, IT, Telecom, Capital Goods, and Teck sectors show weakness on the BSE.
  • The India VIX is down by 3.79% at 13.51.
  • Out of 1,951 stocks traded on the NSE, 948 advanced, 585 declined, and 418 remained unchanged today.
  • A total of 32 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 11 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
  • Infratel stock falls 3%. Around 8.5 cr shares trade in multiple blocks on BSE & NSE at avg Rs 403/sh.
  • Sun Pharma stock falls 3% ahead of Q2 FY18 numbers.
  • Vakrangee stock zooms 4% on inclusion in MSCI Global Standard indices.
  • Adani Enterprises stock rises 2% as Jul-Sep revenue up 20% YoY. 
  • SJVN stock declines 4% as Jul-Sep net profit falls 17%.
