Sensex, Nifty trade volatile; Metal, Realty Index gain


Equity tips:-
  • Indices were flat today even as buying in metal and telecom stocks continued amid higher Asian cues and ahead of F&O expiry for December due today.  
  • Among sectors, Nifty Metal, Realty, Media and FMCG were up, while Nifty PSU Bank, Financial Services, Auto and Bank Nifty Index were down today.  
  • At 12:01 PM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 33,933, up 21 points, while the Nifty50 was ruling at 10,500, up 10 points.  
  • Axis Bank's stock dropped 1% after market regulator Sebi ordered the lender to conduct a probe into an alleged data leak.  
  • Shares of Reliance Communications gained for the third consecutive day today, after the company announced its debt resolution plan on Tuesday. Stock jumped 15.5%.  
  • Kolte-Patil Developers stock rose 4% as the company is going to raise Rs193cr from global investment firm KKR.  
  • The BSE Midcap was up 0.13% and BSE Smallcap Index gained 0.45%.  
  • Volatility index India VIX fell over 1.9%.  
  • Hindalco (+4.5%), Vedanta (+2.1%), UPL (+2%), HUL (+1.6%) and Tata Steel (+1.4%) were the top gainers on Nifty50.  
  • Adani Ports (-1.3%), Hero MotoCorp (-1.2%), Wipro (-0.98%), Axis Bank (-0.92%) and Bajaj Auto (-0.81%) were the top losers in today’s trade.  
  • Out of 1,996 stocks traded on the NSE, 944 advanced, 704 declined and 348 remained unchanged today.  
  • A total of 75 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while three stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Sensex, Nifty erase opening gains; Airtel, Idea stocks drop

Equity tips:- Equity benchmark indices were trading higher led by Asian Paints, ICICI Bank, HDFC, Infosys and L&T. At 9:59 AM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 35,312, up 66 points, while the Nifty50 index was trading at 10,742, up 26 points. Shares of Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular fell after Reliance Jio launched post-paid plan with monthly rental of Rs199, and an ISD calling service at a starting price of 50 paise per minute. Shares of Fortis fell over 2% after its board said it will recommend the offer proposed by the Munjal and the Burman family offices for the healthcare chain’s hospital and diagnostics businesses. Shares of PC Jeweller gained 4.5% after the board approved buyback of 1.21cr paid-up equity shares. Board has approved buyback at Rs350 per share amounting to Rs424cr. Sensex, Nifty trade flat; Airtel, BPCL stocks gain

Equity tips:- The market breadth was neutral on the NSE with 870 shares advancing, 653 shares declining, and 549 remaining unchanged. Equity benchmark indices open flat on Thursday tracking mixed global cues. Investors also awaited the March-quarter earnings with  TCS  and  Infosys  reporting their Q4 numbers tomorrow. Among sectoral front, metal, pharma, banking, and IT were trading in the red zone, while FMCG, financial services, auto, and realty indices are up. IOC, Bharti Airtel, Indiabulls HF, and BPCL were top gainers on  NSE , while Vedanta, Sun Pharma, Infosys, and Adani Ports fell the most.
